Work Experience

U. S. Navy:  1976 – 1994:

Qualified surface warfare officer (1110 – line officer), qualified Navy parachutist, commanding officer (ashore), special duty officer:  public affairs (1650 – restricted line officer).  Assignments included sea duty aboard Navy combatant ships, shore duty @ Department of the Navy, Washington, D.C., overseas NATO – joint assignment @ Iceland Defence Force, plus multiple service schools and other sea / shore assignments.

Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State, 1994 – 2020.

Deputy sheriff:  patrol officer, field training officer, coordinator for sheriff’s ceremonial unit (honor guard), agency public information officer.

Current Occupation

Retired. Volunteer opportunities assist with keeping challenged!

Best School Memory

Two seasons of varsity football under Coach John Maffucci, and one season with the rifle team under SFC Joe Whitsett.  Weekends spent on the beach / in the surf.  Working as section editor for The Adjutant yearbook.  Army JROTC field training @ Fort Irwin & Camp Pendleton.  Weekend ‘night ops’ in Leucadia.  Relationships established with classmates.
