Navy: 1976 – 1994: Qualified surface warfare officer (1110 – line officer), qualified Navy parachutist, commanding officer (ashore), special duty officer: public affairs (1650 – restricted line officer). Assignments included sea duty aboard Navy combatant ships, shore duty @ Department of the Navy, Washington, D.C., overseas NATO – joint assignment @ Iceland Defence Force, plus multiple service schools and other sea / shore assignments. Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, Washington State, 1994 – 2020. Deputy sheriff: patrol officer, field training officer, coordinator for sheriff’s ceremonial unit (honor guard), agency public information officer. |

| Best School Memory | Two seasons of varsity football under Coach John Maffucci, and one season with the rifle team under SFC Joe Whitsett. Weekends spent on the beach / in the surf. Working as section editor for The Adjutant yearbook. Army JROTC field training @ Fort Irwin & Camp Pendleton. Weekend ‘night ops’ in Leucadia. Relationships established with classmates. |
